Facebook is down…

So everyone’s taking to Twitter to complain about it. Not me. I don’t really like Facebook. I’m rather pleased.

I suspect there are families up and down the country talking about things over dinner rather than having their faces lit up by phone screens.

I did manage to post my outfit of the day photo before it baulked though. I say outfit of the day… It was actually yesterday.

New waistcoat coming tomorrow…

After my sheer delight at how smooth and soft the leather is on my Higgs Leather trousers, I’ve decided to order a matching waistcoat. My blazer isn’t too dissimilar so I’m not bothering with that, but it will be really delightful to have a new leather suit which not only fits me, but is as soft and comfortable to wear as any fabric one.

This is the softest waistcoat I own. Sadly it’s missing a button. It’s still not as good as the trousers though.

Double gigger

Friday and Saturday was a double gigger. It’s a while since we’ve done one of those.

Friday was a private function in Hessle… A wedding.

Saturday was a typical club gig, although this club was rather good. A nice easy load, great staff, nice and clean, and a half decent chippy across the road.

It even had a church next door judging by the half deflated balloon found in a puddle.

New Van; New Trousers

A week of new things. First my new van arrived on Monday. A Transit Custom in Blue Chrome. It looks amazing parked next to the Jag!

Then, on Tuesday my new leather trousers from Higgs Leather arrived. Of course I tried them on straight away! A great fit, if a little long.

They look really nice as part of a suit too although the very high quality leather makes my waistcoat look poor, so I’ve ordered a new one to match.

Earlier was the task of shortening them…

A job I’ve done many times. I always use Copydex. It doesn’t go hard, and it always stays up.

Waistcoat Wednesday

I should do this more often… I love wearing suits. However, today I didn’t have enough time to suit up, so it’s one from the archives.

I have the full suit for this one. It’s from Burton if you’re fancying the same outfit.

BMI normal.

Whilst I don’t actually trust BMI as a way of indicating health, I do understand that it can be used carefully as a guide.

Today I weighed myself and at 86.8kg I now fit within the weight range of normal (although I’m still at the top end of the range).

I’m now fitting into 36″ waist trousers, including these rather amazing leather ones which look rather stunning if slightly dapper mixed in with this beautiful waistcoat.

…although this would be more my general office wear.

My Blue Suit

I recently shared a photo of my blue suit on Instagram (@nomenloony) and I’ve received quite a few nice comments about it.

The suit is one I’ve been looking for the perfect version of for years, but I’ve never found one with quite the right fabric or cut. Often the ones you see people wearing to parties are not good quality, or the fabric is not nice to touch.

It came out of a total accident though – a trip to Meadowhall, or more specifically Next, to buy a new suit after my weigh loss had left me with hardly any that fit. Next proved to be fruitless – all the nice suits were skinny fit.

I then tried M&S and found the cut and styling to be drab, and the prices ridiculous for what you were getting (especially considering they were made overseas using cheap labour).

Whilst walking past Burton I just decided to pop in. I wasn’t optimistic.

Turns out I was wrong! Their range was nice and my sizes were available.

I bought two suits. The bright blue one, and one with a lot more teal in it (that’s for a separate post).
